The Nirwana resort has recently undergone some renovations and the majority of these seem to have been completed. The rooms have definately been improved with a modern design. The dining options have also improved with Merica's being a standard type of resort restaurant and the TLC wine and tappas being a good addition to the resort, wine in Bali is expensive though due to the government taxes.
The Pacific Club itself was good and similar to other Club's at resorts I have experienced. I especially enjoy breakfasts as it is quieter and table service is provided instead of a breakfast buffet. I can't fault the service in the Pacific Club and the staff spoke good english. My only small complaint was that as this is suppose to be exclusive some sort of dress standard could be applied to the members. Australian Rules football tops at breakfast belong at some of the cheaper resorts in Kuta.
The views and the sound of the waves agaisnt the black cliffs are always a delight. The pools are some of the best in bali and the water slides are great for the young and young at heart.
The golf course is one of the most enjoyable I have ever played on and is definately the pick of the courses in Bali. The greens could have been improved but were still fine, it was nice to see that they were replacing all the bunker rakes while I was playing.
If you don't mind being away from the main tourist parts of bali and want to spend most of your time at the resort or playing golf then can recommend the Pan Pacific Nirwana. Stayed February 2012, traveled as a couple
