We spent 3 nights at the Ahimsa as part of a longer trip around Bali and were not disappointed. The rooms are immaculate and the private pool is such a treat! The in-room chef-prepared breakfasts were delicious and plentiful as well. Location near Jimbaran Bay is excellent and it is possible to walk along the beach to some of the seafood restaurants that Jimbaran is so famous for. One night we had booked at one of seafood restaurants a little further away, and we were in a rush to get there for sunset. The hotel kindly offered to take us there, free of charge which was a nice touch. The service was excellent. We were there in low season, so it was pretty quiet but it makes me wonder how quiet it is when busy as the open living room/pool area is only separated from your neighbours by a (very high) wall. Just something to keep in mind, as one day the staff cleaning the room next door to us were being quite loud with each other and we could hear them as if they were standing next to us. The first night it also took us some getting used to the openness of everything - there was some wildlife to be seen but as we established ourselves, they were not to be seen again so it was fine. Jimbaran Bay itself is a large, white sand beach, but there isn't a lot going on (no 'town' as such to walk around, just local shops along Uluwatu Road) except for pockets of seafood restaurants a long the beach. The beach is OK but there are definitely better, in fact STUNNING, beaches in the area, but Ahimsa is the sort of place you don't need to leave if you don't want to anyway.
