Environmental Education for
Elementary School Students & Teacher
Delivery of environmental education and information through traditional clown performance,
in-cooperation with local artist and hotelier. Training for teachers also held
periodically.
Waste management
Collaborative work between WISNU, local waste hauler, and hotelier implementing an
integrated waste management. Separation from source, waste minimisation up to 70% by
volume, on-site & off-site garden composting, responsible waste handling. Future
program will be develop for Ubud area in-cooperation with the local community and local
waste hauler.
Organic farming
A pilot plant of organic farming. Using organic compost, no perticides, health food
products.
PROPER Hotel – an Eco-Hotel
Rating
In cooperation with hotelier and Indonesia’s Environmental Control Agency (Bapedal
Wilayah II) develop, set-up and implement an environmentally rating system that will
eventualy be applied throughout Indonesia. Based on International Hotel Environmental
Initiative (IHEI) handbook of Environmental Management for Hotels. The IHEI’s list
will be modified for the Indonesian environmental regulatory. The rating will be announce
on a yearly and voluntary basis.
Watershed Management
Watershed management of Yeh Ho watershed in Tabanan regency.
Waste Water Treatment
Introducing an appropriate technology for small scale industry wastewater treatment plant.
Wisnu in cooperation with buyers, university experts, and dyeing operators, working
together on an on-site as well as communal waste water treatment plant.
Enviromental Information and Documentation Program
Environmental Database
Currently Wisnu is preparing an environmental database of Bali. Information on Southern
Bali water resource will available soon
