Many Traditional Dances are performed during ceremonies and these include: Kambang dance, Lalan, Madihin, Balumut, Mamanda, Baksa Kelana, Baksa Temeng , Baksa Lilin, Baksa Kambang, Rebana dance, Kuda Gepang dance, Mewah dance and many others, totalling 76 different kinds of dance altogether.
Some traditional songs and music instruments are usually played whilst the dancer is on stage, these include: Babon, Gambang, Aron, Salantang, Kedenong, Gong, Suling, and Rehab.
The is oral literature art of the Banjarese also still exists and is known as Madihin and Balamut. The fairy tale of the "Palui", in the Banjarese language, is an example of traditional writing and the oral literature art that is still performed today.
In Soputh Kalimantan, the people produce goods created from local materials. For example, the famous diamonds and precious stones are sold in town of Martapura, rattan and the bamboo crafts are to be found in the Tapin Regency, and the Southern Upper reaches of River (HSS/Kandangan Regency) is famous of its gold, silver and brass works. Woods and rubber are also local resources.
In addition, the Sasirangan cloth of South Kalimantan has a totally different pattern and motifs from the batiks of the other Indonesian regencies within Kalimantan.
