Agriculture plays such important role in North Sulawesi’s economy. It produces some Food Crops, like Rice, corn, peanut and green peas, along with the Commercial Crops, i.e. Coconut, clove, cacao, coffee and nutmeg, while the Livestock are Cows, buffaloes, horses, goats, sheep, chickens and ducks.
The 2,678.9 ha Fresh Water Fishery Area produces Tuna, skipjack tuna, barramundi, anchovy, shrimp, bastern little tuna, gouramy, common carp, tilapia, puntius, while the 1,247.00 ha Production Forest Area produces Rattan, resin, incense and sawn timber.
The Mining concerns on Sulphur, copper, gold, and iron, as well as the handicrafts produces Kerawang (open-work embroidery), carving, rattan and bamboo plaiting.
