Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat
Keraton or Royal Palace in Surakarta has a relationship with Keraton in Jogjakarta. For that reason, no wonder that the architect of Keraton Yogyakarta and Surakarta is similar. Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat features Javanese-European architecture style with white and blue tones. Although Surakarta Kingdom is not as lively as Keraton Jogjakarta but traditional ceremonies and some cultural events are always held under the name of Keraton Surakarta.

Tawangmangu Waterfall
Tawangmangu waterfall is situated at the foot of Mount Lawu. The 100 meter high waterfall is called Grojogan Sewu has a special attraction of hundreds of monkeys. Horses for rent are available to ride around Tawangmangu area. Enjoy the fresh weather, cold water, and nice scenery at Tawangmangu, 40 km away from Solo.

Laweyan Batik Village
The oldest batik village almost all the villagers are batik makers. Many people come to this village to see the batik-making process as well as to learn how to make Batik. Laweyan which has existed since 15th century is sort of one stop shop batik shopping since you will find abundant products of batik like batik materials, batik belt, batik dress, and many more. Your eyes will be pampered with unique batik products in which batik itself has been announced as world cultural heritage.

Triwindu Market
At Triwindu Market you will find various ancient and unique stuffs date back hundreds of years ago just like unique lamps, radios, displays, and many others. Not all stuffs at Windu Market come from hundreds of years ago. Some of them are new stuffs which has ancient and unique figures and colors.

Danar Hadi Batik Museum
This museum preserves unique batik which is collection from Keraton Surakarta, Keraton Jogjaarta, and Pakualaman. Another creation of Batik that you should see is Chinese batik, Hokokai Batik (batik in which the pattern is influenced by Japanese), Sumatran Batik, and many others. In this museum, you also can enjoy seeing Batik which has fabulously unique pattern inspired by folktales like snow white, Hans and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, and Diponegoro war.
