I stayed at the Sura on two occasions. Once on my first trip to Bali when I quickly tired of the commercial resorts. The Sura was one of the reasons I fell in love with Bali. The second time was four years later when I was doing research on a book--and stayed for two weeks. Both times I felt totally taken care of, presented with breakfast at my chosen time, in the center of village activity, and a short stroll from my nightly sunset drink at the amazing beachfront La Lucciola. The staff became guides to the island-- setting up my drivers, organizing day trips, and making sure I had everything I needed. The Sura is small compound where one feels safe, secure and sweetly cared for. The bungalow with the sunken bath is highly recommended for romantic times. You won't find a better deal.
