My wife and i spent 7 nights at The Menjangan at the end of March this year. We came for the remoteness, the jungle/beach environment, and the scuba diving. We stayed in the villa on the beach and it was amazing - huge comfortable bed, exposed bathroom. We ate primarily at the beach restaurant and the food was good and the service was excellent. We were there at the end of the rainy season and the grounds were thick and green and lush (no rain during our stay). We saw the Menjangan deer on a regular basis, monitor lizards, monkeys, etc. The service overall was perfect - the entire team was expectional - they accomodated us in every way and were always friendly. The diving with Blue Season Bali was awesome. The center was based immediately at the resort and the boat picked us up every day at 9am with a 30-40 minute peaceful ride out to Menjangan Island. Visibility was good averaging 20-25 meters. We did over 10 dives and especially the dives off the back side of the Island were some of the best we've ever done. HUGE schools of all types and sizes of fish - the most amazing coral we've seen. The leadership of divemaster Dan and the 'eyes' of the local expert diver Harry enabled us to see creatures few people see. We saw 15-20 mandarinfish on a night dive at the house reef located immediately at the resort's jetty, and a very strange creature that i posted on YouTube. Thanks everyone at The Menjangan and Blue Season Bali - you exceeded our expectations!
