Restaurant and Bar: The
Terrace enjoys sweeping views to the golf course, the Indian
Ocean, Nusa Dua and the Bukit, Bali's southern peninsula.
During the day, it serves Asian and continental fare; evening,
the Terrace offers a range of Indonesian and Thai dishes.
The Restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine served in an
elegant room of high ceilings and leaded windows; seating
is also available in a romantic, outdoor courtyard among flowering
frangipani trees. The Restaurant is open only for dinner.
The Bar provides lofty views of the southern peninsula, the
sea and the mountains on the horizon. It's also a serene setting
for afternoon tea.

Beach Club: The resort's beach is deep with
fine sand. A beach buggy transports guests to and from the
Beach Club, or take one of the resort bicycles and get there
in less than five minutes. There's a coral reef about 150
meters out, and snorkeling equipment is available for exploring.
The Beach Club's nine bales are fitted with plush mattresses
and thick roll cushions, and there's a pot of frangipani water
out front to wash away the sand. Light meals and refreshments
are served at the dining bale; seaside massage is available
from the open-air bales.
The Beach Club is frequently the setting for candlelight
barbecues: torches, sand candles and Balinese umbul umbul
pennants line the pathway to the beach and the three white-
clothed tables set down by the sea.

Swimming Pool: Amanusa's wide blue pool
is bordered by batik pots, by a trellis tumbling with papery-peach
bougainvillea, by pale-pink and white-flowered frangipani
and by a two-storey, paras-stone wall.

Library: Amanusa's library, a cool quiet
hideaway for browsing, specializes in books on Indonesian
art and culture.
Gallery: Balinese and Indonesian craft and
antiques and other gift items are available at the Amanusa
Gallery.
Tennis Center: Amanusa's two, all-weather
tennis courts are floodlit for evening play. Attendants are
available as playing partners or ball boys. A bale is located
between the courts for shady breaks of iced chrysanthemum
tea and other refreshments.
Massage and Beauty Treatments: Amanusa's
resident masseuses mix traditional Balinese massage with Swedish
massage and accupressure - a rejuvenating combination. Massage
is available in the privacy of your suite, either indoors
or out on the balcony. You can also enjoy a massage poolside
or from one of the shaded Beach Club bales, with their sunny
sea views. Body treatments, as well as facials, pedicures
and manicures, can also be arranged.
Boardroom: Amanusa's stylish boardroom is
four rooms in one: a main conference facility that can be
divided for informal meetings, a handsomely appointed reception
area for coffee breaks and cocktail hour, a fully equipped
office and a washroom. Facilities include direct lines for
fax and telephone, a video and laser-disc system, satellite
TV and a computer link to the room projector and big screen.
The boardroom is complimentary to groups booking their getaways
at Amanusa. The venue is also ideal for weddings, birthday
parties, family reunions and other private functions. Guests
can also view videos and laser discs in the boardroom, which
can comfortably accommodate up to 30 people.
Meetings and Incentives: Beyond the boardroom
itself, Amanusa can make just about any aspect of the resort
available for business groups. Along with the resort's two
restaurants and the bar, alternative dining and cocktail venues
can easily be organized. (So, too, can special dietary requests.)
The colonnade, located behind the pool, for example, can be
set aside for lunches. The pool terrace makes a welcome setting
for pre-dinner drinks and canapes, and dinner can be taken
in any of a number of special venues. On a day free of business,
picnic hampers and day trips can be arranged to cater for
up to 15 people. These, and many other dining and entertainment
options can be tailor-made to suit specific needs and interests.
Small business groups, for example, can hold their own corporate
tennis or golf challenge. Amanusa will be pleased to arrange
a company or group tourament at the Bali Golf and Country
Club. Prizes can be offered for everything from best score
to longest drive and best-dressed duffer.
A variety of performances can also be organized, varying
in size from a handful of performers to more than a hundred
musicians and dancers. Possibilities include: a solo flautist
playing the suling, a simple bamboo, end-blown flute;
semar pegulingan, a traditional entertainment originating
in the court of the raja and including musicians and dancers
performing the mask dance, the legong kraton and
other theatrical classics; jogcak, a performance
designed specifically for Amanusa, it combines the low resonating
sounds of the big bamboo instruments used in the jegog ensemble
from west Bali with the kecak vocal chorus; call,
a traditional story of witches and black magic enacted by
a cast of 15 of Bali's most respected performers: the height
of Balinese entertainment.
For small groups wanting a deeper insiglit into Balinese
life and culture, Amanusa will arrange seminars or presentations
covering a range of topics, including art, history, architecture,
dance, music and craft. Whatever the area or field of interest,
Amanusa can make available a variety of experts.

Golf: Golf enthusiasts enjoy a priority
reservation system at the Bali Golf and Country Club, one
of Asia's finest 18-hole, championship courses. A 25-percent
reduction in green fees and free club rentals are also available
to Amanusa guests, who can sign all charges to their Amanusa
account. Further afield, there's the Bali Handara Country
Club, set within an extinct volcanic crater, and the Bali
Nirwana Country Club at Tanah Lot, on Bali's west coast.
Bicycling: Take an Amanusa mountain bicycle
down to the Beach Club or the golf course or consider such
adventurous options as the Batur Trail. Beginning at Lake
Batur, you sweep, downhill, past rain forest, rice terraces
and sleepy mountain villages.
Island Cruising: About 20 kilometers offshore
from Bali, visible from Amanusa, are the islands of Nusa Penida
and Nusa Lembongan. A variety of sailing craft, including
a luxury sailing catamaran, can be chartered to visit Nusa
Lembongan, the more secluded of the two. This full-day excursion
includes a luncheon barbecue. The afternoon can be spent exploring
the island, relaxing on the beach or playing beach volleyball.
Touring: A visit to the ancient Luhur Uluwatu
temple, an easy drive from Amanusa, is among the resort's
many popular excursions. One of Bali's sad kahyangan
- the six temples of the heavens - Luhur Uluwatu is perched
high above the sea on an enormous limestone outcropping. Facing
west, it makes for an ideal sunset visit.
Another day, head north, through the rural villages and back
roads of Bali's famed Tabanan Regency. There, on a ridge resplendent
with coconut, clove and banana trees, Amanusa keeps its own
bale, set with a teak table and chairs and an unblemished
view of a valley full with rice terraces. Perfect for picnic
lunches and other private reveries.
Amanusa drivers and guides can take you on these and other
personalized scenic and cultural island tours. Picnic lunches
and self-drive cars are also available.
Shopping: Nusa Dua's Galleria Shopping Center
is located in the leafy, relaxed environment of the integrated
resort that embraces Amanusa. Close by is Denpasar, Bali's
capital and commercial center, with a major market and museum,
as well as a rich mix of antique shops and international boutiques.
The beach strips and streets of Kuta, Legian and Sanur are
packed, day and night, with restaurants, bars, handicraft
and souvenir shops and all the clutter and color of one of
the world's most popular beach destinations.
