Singaraja Today
Singaraja of the capital and chief port of the Buleleng
Regency, which stretches along the whole northern coast in Bali. The Raja Panji Sakti
built a palace called Singaraja, (which literally translate as "lion king" ), in
1604, and the name remains. Over the centuries the importance of the port has somewhat
lessened, with the transfer of Balis government to Denpasar, but the original port
is still the anchorage for a number of picturesque schooners that ply the local waters.

manuscripts made of strips of lontar palm that contain a wealth of tradition, teaching and
philosophy. This tour also includes a visit of the historic temples Pura Beji and Pura
